How to complete MindSonar®
If you are going to measure yourself or have already bought a licence code read this
MindSonar® makes visible how people think in a specific context. MindSonar® measures thinking patterns, perceptions, thoughts, feelings and behaviours. It does not identify WHAT you think, but HOW you think.
It is not a personality test. MindSonar® does not put people in a box or typecast them. There is no pass or fail. It does not affect or measure personality. MindSonar® assumes that people think differently in different situations. A person may have a particular profile when they are playing sports which is different when meeting friends or leading the business.
MindSonar® doesn’t presuppose that a given thinking pattern is good or bad. It assumes that any style has a time and place where it can be useful.
Your context
The purpose of this measurement is to identify ways of thinking in a given context for example ‘leading a team.’ think about a context you really want to know more about and frame a question you would like to have answered – keep that question in the back of your mind and then form the context- for example, ‘how do I lead better than I do now?’ the context should be written in leading a team or leading at my best . Always in the neutral and not in the negative. You be provided space in the measurement to write this in. Don’t worry if you struggle with this- drops an email and we will help clarify your context with you.
Before starting the measurement you should remember as vividly as possible the assigned context. The measurement gives you time to concentrate and associate in this specific context. Please notice that it’s not about giving the right or wrong answers. It’s all about how a person thinks.
Taking the measurement
You can take the measurement on a computer (Windows or Apple) or tablet that is connected to the Internet. It’s not possible to use a smartphone. There are three parts.
Three parts
- General Information
At first the measurement will ask some personal information: name, age, occupation. - Criteria or values
The second part the measurement will ask about what is important to you about that context. You are asked to organise the statements you make in order of importance and then give the opposite (example: ‘It is important to me to be quick. The opposite of this is slow.’) - Questions
Finally the measurement will ask you to concentrate again on the specific context and then answer a series of questions. Please continue with the questions until finished. Do not pause between questions to do other things. The system measures how long it takes to answer all the questions, but there is no judgement associated with this. - Timeframe
It will take most people about 20-30 minutes to take the measurement. Please make sure that:
- There is enough time to take the measurement
- There is a quiet environment without any interference
- Other computer programmes are closed on the computer
- Full concentration is given – again and again – on the specific context.
